Another Goshen Student Chosen to Appear on 'Ellen' Show!

Last year it was Sami Stephens and her 'sock pizza'. This year it's Spaulding Elementary 9 year old Jordan Ward and his 'Baby Patter'.

Ward has been chosen as the 6th student from Spaulding Elementary to be featured on CBS's 'Ellen Degeneres' show for coming up with a creative invention at the school's annual 'Invention Convention'. Ward said his baby sister would cry continually unless someone was patting her back. That gave him all the motivation he needed to come up with an invention plenty of big brothers all across the country would love to buy.

Jordan took some PVC tubing, the arm off of a stuffed monkey toy, and the motor off of his jackhammer tool and came up with his 'Baby Patter.' The device does exactly what you'd expect. When you turn it on, the monkey arm pats the baby's back nonstop. And Jordan says it actually works on getting his sister to stop crying as well.

Jordan was encouraged to upload a video of his invention on you tube and submit it to the Ellen show for consideration. His mother, Beth Ward, says show producers called within 48 hours of submitting the clip to invite Jordan to fly to Los Angles and appear on an episode of the show.

But the Ward's aren't packing their suitcases just yet. Ward said Ellen producers have put the Invention Convention storyboard on hold for the time being. Although no final decision has been made as to whether or not the story board will be picked up, Ward said the show will stop taping episodes for the year sometime in May.

Jordan says he's not nervous to be on national TV, and in fact would be disappointed if he doesn't get the opportunity to travel to California and dance with Ellen.
