Trustees Unanimously Approve Choice of New Fire Chief
The Goshen Township Trustees are proud to announce that Stephen N. Pegram has been named the new full time Fire Chief of Goshen Township.
Pegram comes to Goshen Township from Xenia, Ohio where he currently serves in the capacity of Deputy Fire Chief. His professional background and experience includes:
- Xenia City Fire Department 2007-present
- Loveland-Symmes Fire Department from 2000-2007
- Director of Training and Education
- The City of Mason, Ohio Fire Department from 1998-2000
- Mason Deerfield Joint Fire District 1997-1998
- Pennington Fire Department in Pennington, New Jersey 1988-1997
- Mercer County Fire School, New Jersey
- Mercer County Emergency Services
- Princeton Borough Bureau of Fire Safety, New Jersey
- Hopewell Township Bureau of Fire Safety
- Swathmore Fire Department, Pennsylvania
Pegram is a member of and serves on the Board of Directors for the International Society of Fire Instructors. He also belongs to the Ohio Fire Chief's Association and the International Association of Fire Chiefs. He holds certifications as a Firefighter II, EMT-B, Fire Instructor, Fire Inspector, and as a Hazardous Materials Technician.

With him comes the promise of continued improvement and strong management within our fire department. Stephen has a record of being well rounded in education and experience in the fire safety field. I'm looking forward to watching him become a part of the Goshen Community."
Pegram was chosen by unanimous decision of the three trustees to continue in the hiring process and has accepted an offer with a starting salary of $75,000.00 annually. An official start date has yet to be announced. Once that day is determined, an official "Meet and Greet" with members of the media will be announced. |
