Francis Fagin Way Dedicated!
About 100 people came out to attend the formal dedication of "Francis Fagin Way" in Goshen Township on October 10, 2099.
The Goshen Township Trustees voted to rename the section of Wood St. between George and Main Streets in May of 2008. This is where the original fire department was located. Clermont County Commissioners later approved the name change making it official in August of 2008.
State Representative Joe Uecker, County Commissioner Ed Humphrey, and Township Trustees Jack Kuntz and Mike Keeley were among those in attendance.
Also attending the event were 19 original volunteer firemen on the original volunteer force with Francis Fagin. Active firefighters from Goshen, Milford, Wayne Township, Miami Township, and Harlan Township also came out to show their appreciation for Fagin.
Francis "Smoke" Fagin served Goshen Township for 46 years. Fagin's son Dan would also later serve the township as a Fire Chief. |
