2 New Members Sworn into the FIRE/EMS Department

The Goshen Fire & EMS Department is proud to announce the addition of two new members. On April 15, 2008 Christian Elliot and Matthew Young were sworn into office.

Christian Elliot joins Goshen Township from West Chester, Ohio as a level 2 firefighter. Christian is a graduate of Lakota East High School, and is continuing his education at the University of Cincinnati, where he is a part of their paramedic program. Christian also works with the Deerfield Township Fire Department.  

Matt Young comes to Goshen Township as a level 2 firefighter by way of St. Bernard, Ohio. He is currently a pre-pharmacy student at the University of Cincinnati, and a part of the Bethesda North paramedic program. Currently Matt works with the Mt. Orb Fire Department, as well as with Tri- Health PTS (Patient Transfer Service).

Up next, Matt & Christian will go through orientation and then be assigned a shift.

Chief Virgil Murphy, and Assistant Chiefs Loretta Burns & Doug Engled head the 45-person fire and EMS department.
