Goshen Gallop Off and Running!
The Goshen Gallop Committee says they're lining up support and making plans for the 1st annual Goshen Gallop!
The Gallop will be held on Friday, August 21 and Saturday August 22nd this year. There are all sorts of different activities planned including old time photos, camp outs, and bonfires. Remax Real Estate will also be at the festival offering rides in their signature hot air balloon. The event will eventually grow into a three day community festival with regional interest featuring horse racing. 
The Gallop Committee, which is made up of several local community leaders, voted to formally accept the Gallop logo and the event dates at their April 8th Meeting. In the past month the committee member Jeff Corcoran has been presenting the idea of the Gallop to several civic and governmental organizations in Goshen, and gaining their support along the way. So far, the Goshen Community and Economic Development Corporation (GCIC), Goshen Chamber of Commerce, Goshen Youth Soccer Association, and the Goshen Township Board of Trustees have all offered their official endorsement of the Gallop.
The committee will present the Gallop to the Goshen Township Park Board at their meeting on Sunday April 19th, and then the Goshen School Board at their Monday April 20th meeting. The committee hopes to get an official endorsement from these groups as well.
The Gallop Committee is seeking corporate groups to sign on and sponsor different events held at the event. Dale Roe, a member of the GCIC, signed his company, DER Development, up to be a corporate sponsor the night the Committee pitched the event at the GCIC meeting.
