Goshen Township, Ohio

That's Just Gravy!

Who better to dish up some down home "comfort food" than a family full of cooks? "Gravy" opened it's doors at an official ribbon cutting ceremony in Goshen on December 10th. The restaurant brags a menu of affordably priced comfort foods, focused greatly on, what else, gravy!

Owner Harvey Golden said this is a family affair. The menu is made of favorites from his own kitchen as well as those from his Great Grandfather, an Army cook in WW1, to his aunts who currently operate a wildly popular restaurant called "Golden Girls" in Tennessee, to his own grandmother, who has been making meals from scratch at "Press Box" in the 1970's.

The restaurant is located at the site of the former Baker's Family Diner on State Route 28 between Goshen and Miami Township. The inside has been completely updated with modern light fixtures, tables booths, and tall back leather chairs. Open from 6 am until 9 pm, breakfast lovers are in luck as the first meal of the day is served right up until closing time.  Breakfast prices average about 5 bucks, $6 for lunch, and somewhere between $8-$9 for a large supper. You guessed it; most meals are served with your choice of one of 8 varieties of gravy.

When asked why he chose to open 'Gravy' in Goshen Township, Golden said simply, "This is my hometown, I'm back home!"
