Goshen Township Police Department
Not this town, not these roads
Goshen Police have arrested a repeat DUI offender with a long rap sheet of alcohol related offenses.
28-year-old Harold R. Boyd of Batavia was arrested at 2 a.m. Saturday (Novemner 8, 2008) morning after officer Keith Clonch noticed dangerous driving patterns from Boyd in the 15 hundred block of State Route 28.
Boyd failed several field sobriety tests and eventually registered a .125 on the Breathalyzer test. The legal limit in Ohio is .08.
To make matters even worse for Boyd, he was driving under 16 active license suspensions including one from a pervious felony OVI conviction.
Boyd was arrested and charged with Felony OVI, driving under suspension, and non-compliance.
This arrest makes his 6th alcohol related offense since 1999. In April 2007 he was convicted of felony OVI. In February 2007, August 2003, and June 2002 he was convicted of misdemeanor OVI offenses. In May of 1999 Boyd was convicted of Reckless Operation.
Arresting officer Keith Clonch has a passion for stopping those who drink and drive on the roads he patrols. He was named M.A.D.D.'s "Top Cop" this year for his work in stopping drunk drivers.
