Officer James Taylor
Officer Taylor is a Milford High School graduate. After high school he joined the United States Army and was assigned to the 1/75 Ranger Battalion. At the end of his enlistment he became certified as a Corrections Officer and began working for the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati –Clermont College Police Academy in 1998. Officer Taylor started with the Goshen Township Police Department in August of 1998. Officer Taylor worked as a Road Patrol Officer until September of 2001. Due to a COPS In Schools Grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Officer Taylor went in to the School Resource Officer (SRO) position. As an SRO, he works hand in hand with the administration, teachers and students. He teaches classes, counsels students and provides Goshen Township with a link to the community and its youth. Among the many duties as an SRO, Taylor conducts Neighborhood Watch meetings and conducts Junior Police Academy summer camps for youth throughout Clermont County. Taylor’s service to the Goshen Community has resulted in numerous awards and recognitions. In 2001, he was awarded as Clermont County’s Officer of the Year, the Mothers Against Drunk Driving “Top Cop” award in 2004, and the Goshen Masonic Lodge Community Service award.
