Goshen Township Police Department

Police want you to designate a driver, but not if it's your 1 year old!

"But Officer, I had a designated driver!"

That could be a defense for 29-year-old Marya Green. She was arrested Tuesday night at the intersection of Buddy Lane and Park Avenue at the Green Acres Mobile Home Park in Loveland. Police pulled her over, knowing she was driving under suspension from a prior OVI conviction. But once Marya stopped, police were in for a big surprise!

Marya's 1-year-old son was sitting on her lap with both hands on the steering wheel, because he was the one steering the car. Police say Green had two other children in the car with her. She was given a Breathalyzer test and registered a .111 … that's nearly twice the legal limit of .08.

Green was arrested and faces charges of DUI, Driving under OVI Suspension, Non Compliance, and Endangering Children. The arrest was made by Officer Keith Clonch, who is noted for his iron fist against DUI related traffic stops.

This is her 3rd OVI arrest in 6 years. Her children were released to their father, and Children's services have been notified.
