Goshen Township welcomes eight new members to their Fire/EMS department!
At their March 24th meeting, the Goshen Township Trustees accepted recommendations to hire Anthony Christie, Edward Mussleman, Brent Waits, and Shane Matthews.
Christie, Mussleman, and Waits were all hired as part time EMT/firefighters at a rate of $8.50 per hour with a one-year probationary period. Matthews was hired as a part-time paramedic/firefighter at a rate of $12 per hour with a one-year probationary period.
Then at their April 14th meeting, The Trustees accepted recommendations from Acting Chief Doug Engled to hire Linda Cain, Kyle Schatzman, Douglas Streeter, and Douglas Jones. Schatzman, Streeter, and Jones were all hired as part time EMT/firefighters at a rate of $8.50 per hour with a one-year probationary period. Cain was hired as a part-time paramedic/firefighter at a rate of $12 per hour with a one-year probationary period.
"The trustees welcome all eight of these new employees with open arms. We're excited to see them grow within our organization as they work to help keep Goshen safe," said Board of Trustees Chairman Mike Keeley.
All eight new hires are part of a hiring rush implemented under the directive of the trustees in efforts to create a more regular rotating schedule in the fire department.
