Chief Ray Snyder

Ray is a 1975 graduate of Glen Este High School, and graduated from the Scarlet Oaks Police Academy in January of 1981. Ray began his career at Goshen Township in June of 1981 as a Patrol Officer, and served in the ranks of Sergeant and Lieutenant before being promoted to Chief of Police in 1991. Ray is a 1992 graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command in Evanston, Illinois.

In 1991, he was the co-recipient of an award from the Clermont County Bar Association for “Best Overall Investigation Leading to the Solution of a Crime”. Ray was also honored with an award from that organization in 1987 for “Significant Improvements in Police Operations”, and again in 1994 for “Superior Achievement in Police Leadership.” He received the “Community Builder” award from the Goshen Masonic Lodge in the year 2000.

Other Awards and Honors:

  • 1990 -  Recognition of Contribution of Plans and Ideas for improvements in Police Operations- presented by the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce
  • 1991Police Appreciation and Achievement Award- presented by-Ohio Senate
  • 1993 - Law Enforcement Excellence Award- presented by- Ohio House of Representatives
  • The American Association of Police Officers has recognized our Chief for implementing the first Junior Police Academy in the State of Ohio
