Cpl. Ron Robinson
Ron is a 1991 graduate of the New Richmond High School, where he was named Division II Player of the Year by the Cincinnati Post. He also played football for New Richmond during two of their undefeated seasons of 1990 and 1991. Ron is married with 6 children.
Ron graduated from the Southern State Community College Police Academy in 2000, and previously served with the New Richmond Police Department, Xavier University Police Department and the Highland County Sheriff’s Office.
Ron was promoted to the rank of Corporal, serving as a night shift supervisor in 2004. Ron was named as Clermont County’s Traffic Officer of the Year in 2001, and received the Medal of Honor in 2003 for his performance when confronted by two burglars at the O’Bannon Creek Golf Course the year prior. One of the suspects fired several shots through Ron’s patrol car with an AK-47 assault rifle as he approached the scene. Both suspects were taken in to custody without further incident, and both were incarcerated for a period of 20 years in the state penitentiary. Ron was also awarded as Officer of the Year in 2007, and has received the MADD “Top Cop” award on two occasions for his efforts to remove impaired or intoxicated drivers from the road. Ron is a state certified police instructor, and serves the department as a Field Training Officer for new recruits. Ron also acquired a DEA training certification for Clandestine/Methamphetamine Labs in Quantico, Virginia. Ron can be reached at ron.robinson@goshen-oh.gov
