Clermont County Commissioners

Annual Town Meeting of Townships

Stonelick Township hosted the annual Town Meeting with the Clermont County Commissioners on Wednesday, August 27th. Commissioners Robert Proud, Mary Walker, and R. Scott Croswell III listened to presentations from trustees representing Goshen, Jackson, Stonelick, and Wayne Townships. They also heard reports from the Superintendent of Clermont Northeastern School district and Assistant Superintendent to Goshen School District as well as a report from the County Auditor's Office, County Water and Sewer Department, and the County Administrator.

Goshen Schools Assistant Superintendent Jane Schmidbauer says the schools are proud of where they are, but they're not done making improvements yet! Spaulding Elementary received an "Excellent" rating from the state for the 4th consecutive year, while the other schools in the district are inching closer to that designation. "This is the 'new Goshen'," Schmidbauer said, "It's not the same old Goshen I walked into 20 years ago. My first night on the job I was plunging toilets. Man was I happy I got my Master's [degree] then!" Schmidbauer went on to boast that in 2008 Goshen High School had a 100% graduation rate.

Goshen Township Trustee Jack Kuntz spoke on behalf of Goshen Township. He highlighted issues of Township concern including the failed safety services levy and Gaynor Road collapse and reconstruction. Kuntz went on to highlight positive steps forward in the community citing the improvements to the website, as well as creation of the Goshen CIC (Community Improvement Corporation) and their quest to acquire the old Sheila Green school property and redevelop that into a community center.
